Avomine
Overview
Travel sickness can be a mild inconvenience, meaning you need to stop more often during long journeys. Or it can be quite distressing, and may lead sufferers to avoid travelling altogether.
Whether you suffer from mild or severe travel sickness, Avomine can offer relief.
It works in a similar way to allergy medicine. In fact, Avomine is an antihistamine. It works by binding to histamine receptors in the brain. This reduces the feeling of sickness associated with travel, vertigo or general nausea.
It can also make it easier to sleep, so passengers who suffer from travel sickness are more likely to be able to relax during a journey.
Using Avomine
Avomine tablets can be taken by anyone aged five and above. Younger children can take a liquid version, rather than tablets.
For general sickness, adults can take up to three tablets a night. Children aged 10 and over should take one tablet a night to treat sickness. Younger children should be given half a tablet.
For travel sickness, you should take a tablet about two hours before your journey. If you start to feel sick on longer journeys, you should take a second tablet.
The active ingredient is Promethazine Teoclate, which is an antihistamine.
