Colpermin IBS Relief Capsules are an antispasmodic which are used to relieve spasms and cramps which occur in the largebowel in Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The capsules contain peppermint oil, which relaxes the spasm of the bowel wall. This relieves pain and allows pockets of gas, which may have made you feel bloated, to pass along the bowel and out of the body

What is Colpermin?
Colepermin capsules are used as an antispasmodic to relieve symptoms such as spasms and cramps which are commonly associated with irritable bowel syndrome. 

What is the ingredient in Colpermin capsules?
The active ingredient in Colpermin is peppermint oil 0.2ml

How does Colpermin work?
The peppermint oil in Colpermin works by relaxing the walls of the bowel aiding in relieving the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.

What are the side effects of Colpermin?
The most common side effects of colpermin are nausea, vomiting, burning sensation in the mouth and anal irritation. Please read the information leaflet for a full list of side effects.

What is the dosage of Colpermin?
Take one capsule three times daily with food until the symptoms resolve which can take one to two weeks but possibly up to two to three months.

I missed a dose can I double the next one?
No stick to the regular dose. You should not double dose Colpermin.

Can I take Colpermin whilst pregnant?
Colpermin should not be taken whilst pregnant unless directly advised by your general practitioner.

Side Effects of Colpermin
While side effects are uncommon with Colpermin, those who do suffer side effects most commonly reported

• Heartburn
• Anal irritation
• Irritation of mouth or oesophagus

The above side effects can often be attributed to capsules rupturing when taking.

Take 20 Minutes before meals

Adults and children 15 years and over

Take one capsulethree times a day. If symptoms are severe,the dose can be increased to two capsules taken three times a day.

This medicine is suitable for most people but a few people
should not use it. If you are in any doubt, talk to your doctor or
pharmacist.
Do not take this medicine…
■ If you have ever had a bad reaction to any of the ingredients.

■ If you are allergic to peanuts or soya.

If any of these apply to you, get advice from your doctor or
pharmacist without using Colpermin.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist…
■ If this is the first time that you have suffered from
these symptoms.
■ If you are aged 40 years or over and it has been some
time since your last attack of IBS, or your symptoms
have changed.

■ If your symptoms worsen, or do not improve over 2 weeks.

■ If you are taking any indigestion remedies.

■ If you have passed blood from your bowel.

■ If you are vomiting or feeling nauseous.

■ If you have lost your appetite or have unexplained weight loss.

■ If you are unusually pale or tired.

■ If you have severe constipation.

■ If you have a fever.

■ If you have recently travelled abroad.

■ If you have abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge.

■ If you have difficulty or pain when passing urine.

If any of these bullet points apply to you now or in the past, talk
to your doctor or pharmacist.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding
■ Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this
medicine if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy,
suspect you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Some of the ingredients can cause problems
■ This product contains arachis oil (peanut oil). Do not use this
medicine if you are allergic to peanut or soya.
■ Peppermint oil can cause allergic reactions in very rare cases
(rash, headache, slow pulse rate, loss of co-ordination and
shaking). These symptoms may occur in association with alcohol.

The active ingredient is: Peppermint oil 0.2 ml
Other ingredients are: Gelatin, colloidal silica, titanium dioxide (E171), indigotine (E132), Eudragit L, Eudragit S, triethyl citrate, ammonia, monostearin, polyethyleneglycol 4000, talc, purified water, beeswax, refined arachis (peanut) oil.
