How many tablets do I take?
Take 2 tablets initially up to a maximum of 4 times a day (for 12 years and over). For children aged between 6 and 12 years of age it is advised they take 1 tablet up to a maximum of 3 times a day.

Both the IBS and cramp tablets have the same active ingredient hyoscine butylbromide. Buscopan IBS is formulated to treat medically diagnosed IBS and the dosage is made up to treat mild to severe bouts. Buscopan Cramps comes with a fixed dosage that is used to treat stomach and abdominal cramps.

Directions of use for Buscopan Cramps Tablets
Abdominal Cramps:

Adults and children over 12 years of age:
Swallow TWO tablets with a glass of water

This can be repeated up to a maximum of 4 times a day.

For children between 6 to 12 years of age:
Swallow ONE tablet with a glass of water

This can be repeated up to a maximum of 3 times a day.

*Do NOT give to children under the age of 6 years. *

IBS:

For Adults and children over 12 years of age:
        Start by swallowing ONE tablet with a glass of water three times a day.

(If more relief is needed, you can increase the dose to a maximum of TWO tablets four times a day. )

*Not recommended for children under 12 years of age*

Warnings for Buscopan Cramps Tablets
Do NOT take if you have any of the following:

• glaucoma
• megacolon (enlarged colon)
• Myasthenia gravis
• Allergies to any of the ingredients
